What is the Avochato Chrome Extension?

The Avochato Chrome Extension adds a slide-out side panel to your Chrome browser so your messaging inbox is always accessible without switching tabs. You can send and receive texts, make and accept calls, start new conversations, and manage your inbox from anywhere on the web.

Do I need Salesforce to use the Chrome Extension?

No. The extension works as a standalone inbox for any Avochato user. However, if you're an Avochato for Salesforce customer, the extension gains additional functionality, automatically surfacing the relevant Avochato conversation whenever you navigate to a Lead or Contact record in Salesforce.

Can I use the Chrome Extension on sites other than Salesforce?

Yes. The side panel travels with you across the entire web, including LinkedIn, Gmail, or any other site you visit. Your active conversation stays loaded as you browse, and you can open new conversations without returning to the main Avochato app.

Can I handle calls from the Chrome Extension?

Yes. Incoming calls can be answered or declined directly from the side panel without leaving the page you're on. You can also make outbound calls to contacts from within the extension.

Can I manage multiple conversations at once using the extension?

Yes. You can have one conversation open in the Chrome Extension side panel and a separate one open in the full Avochato web app simultaneously, allowing you to handle multiple threads side by side.

How do I install the Avochato Chrome Extension?

Go to the Avochato Chrome Extension listing in the Chrome Web Store, click "Add to Chrome," and confirm the installation. Once installed, click the Avochato icon in your browser toolbar to pin it and open the side panel. You'll be prompted to log into your Avochato account if you aren't already signed in.

Will the Chrome Extension work in Salesforce without an Avochato for Salesforce license?

The extension works as a standalone messaging side panel for any Avochato user without a Salesforce license. However, the Salesforce-specific features, like automatically loading a conversation when you open a Lead or Contact record, require an active Avochato for Salesforce license and a connected Salesforce org.

Does the extension work in browsers other than Chrome?

No. The Avochato Chrome Extension requires the official Google Chrome browser. Other Chromium-based browsers are not officially supported.

Can I use the Chrome Extension on mobile?

The Chrome Extension is a desktop browser tool. For mobile use, Avochato offers native iOS and Android apps available from the App Store and Google Play, which provide the same core messaging and calling functionality on your phone.

What happens to my active conversation in the side panel when I navigate to a new page?

Your current conversation in the side panel persists as you browse, whether you're moving between Salesforce records, tabs, or entirely different websites. The panel stays loaded until you close it or start a new conversation.
