Can I bring my current phone number to Avochato?

Yes. You can port any mobile or landline number into Avochato (typically 2–4 weeks, with a brief ~2-hour offline window), or host a landline to text-enable it while keeping your existing call service untouched. Contact our team to get started.

How do I make an outbound call in Avochato?

Open any conversation in your inbox and click the phone icon in the upper right corner to immediately dial your contact. If no conversation exists yet, use the New Message button to find or add the contact first, then place the call.

Can incoming calls be forwarded to my cell phone?

Yes. Call Forwarding can be configured in Settings > Call Forwarding to send incoming calls to a mobile number of your choice. You can also route calls to ring in-browser, go straight to voicemail, or follow a custom Call Tree before forwarding.

What is the Call Tree feature?

The Call Tree lets you build a simple phone menu (like "Press 1 for Sales, Press 2 for Support") that routes callers to different phone numbers based on the digit they press. It activates after your greeting and can support up to 9 options. Callers who press 0 proceed to your standard call forwarding rules.

Are my phone calls recorded?

Call recording is available and can be configured per inbox. You can review call logs from the Calls tab, including duration, direction (inbound or outbound), and assigned agent. Voicemails left by callers are also accessible there and can be played back directly.

Does Avochato screen robocalls and spam calls?

Yes. Avochato supports STIR/SHAKEN attestation for inbound calls, which grades calls by their verification level (A, B, or C). Lower-scored calls can be required to press 1 before connecting, filtering out automated robocall systems while letting legitimate callers through.

Can I set up a custom voicemail greeting?

Yes. Go to Settings > Recordings & Voicemail to upload a custom .mp3 or .wav greeting that callers hear before leaving a voicemail. You can also configure calls to go straight to voicemail without ringing, and set up an automatic text reply to be sent to anyone who calls and doesn't reach you.

Can I text a contact immediately after a missed call?

Yes. Avochato's auto-response settings include a "When You Miss an Incoming Call" option that automatically sends a text message to the caller. This lets you acknowledge the call and continue the conversation over text without any manual follow-up.

Does Avochato automatically create a contact record when someone calls in?

Yes. When a new inbound call comes from an unknown number, Avochato creates a new contact automatically. You can also configure the inbox to auto-opt-out new contacts created by inbound calls, which is useful for enforcing stricter TCPA compliance on call-generated leads.

Can I filter out low-quality or spam calls?

Yes. Avochato's robocall protection and STIR/SHAKEN-based call scoring let you send low-score calls directly to voicemail rather than allowing them to ring through. "A" grade calls are connected normally, while lower-scored calls can be required to press 1 to confirm they're a real person before being connected.
