Avochato supports SMS (text-only), MMS (images, videos, GIFs, PDFs, and other media), and two-way conversations across multiple channels from one shared inbox. Standard SMS segments are 160 characters; messages over that limit are automatically split and billed as additional segments. Avochato's message composer shows an estimated cost and segment count as you type.
Yes. Avochato's shared inbox lets your entire team view and respond to conversations from the same number. Conversations can be assigned to specific agents, auto-assigned based on routing rules, and tracked with full history so any team member can pick up where another left off, without asking the customer to repeat themselves.
You define a keyword (or phrase) in Settings > Keywords, and Avochato automatically sends a pre-written reply any time a contact texts that exact word to your number. Keywords are not case-sensitive but must match the incoming message exactly. They're useful for opt-in confirmations, FAQ shortcuts, and campaign triggers, and can also be used to kick off a multi-step campaign or survey.
Templates are saved, reusable messages that you can insert into any conversation with a shortcut or keyboard hotkey. They support personalization variables (like $FIRST_NAME or custom fields), can include MMS attachments, and are searchable by name. Any edits to a template automatically apply everywhere it's used, including in campaigns and automations.
Yes. US carriers and federal law (TCPA) require that contacts opt in before you text them, that you identify your business in outbound messages, and that you honor opt-out requests immediately. Contacts who text you first are considered to have opted in for that conversation; for ongoing outreach, you should collect consent at the point of contact capture, such as a web form with a texting permission checkbox. Avochato automatically appends your Sender ID and opt-out instructions to qualifying outbound messages and processes STOP keywords to suppress further messaging. Avochato also requires A2P 10DLC registration for local numbers sending messages to US recipients.
Yes. Avochato supports MMS, which lets you attach images, videos, GIFs, PDFs, and other media to your messages. Supported file types include JPEG, PNG, GIF, SVG, PDF, and vCard. Media attachments are sent and billed as a separate segment from the text portion of the message, and files should be under 500KB for reliable delivery.
Campaigns let you build a sequence of timed messages that are sent automatically on a set delay. Each step can include custom variables (like a contact's name or appointment date), and you can configure what happens to the conversation status after each message is sent. Campaigns follow your inbox's office hours, so messages scheduled outside business hours will send at the next available time.
